Presents color-illustrated volumes on eight science topics: matter and energy, animals and plants, chemistry, stars and atoms, the planets, ecology and environment, computing, and evolution and genetics, each containing short definitions of approximately four hundred terms, cross-referenced to more than forty thematic spreads. Also includes knowledge maps and time lines.
