The colonial experience

The bibliographies, which appear at the end of each chapter, will help to remind the reader that The Colonial Expeience has been shaped mainly to serve as a beginning, not an end, and to arouse him to dig deeper into the colonial story, in the hope that he may emerge from his burrowings with generalizations of his own, perhaps even to contradict those offered in this volume.
