Photosynthesis

Studies the chemical process of photosyntheses that creates a plant's unique ability to produce food and oxygen from sunlight. Diagrams and photomicrography illustrate the role of each part of the leaf in this process detailing how chloroplasts felled with green chlorophyll become eenergized when exposed to light. Animations show how this related to the release of oxygen through stomata and the creation of sugars that can be stored for future use by the plant. In a hands-on experiment, students investigate whether or not a plant needs light to make food.
