This issue of the Video Journal of Education explores how to close the achievement gap. Importance is placed on the use of asset based education. DVD #1 looks at how students learn and the hand-on experiences that help students in making essential connections, such as those that occur through mediated learning. DVD #2 discusses the need for maintaining high expectations, shows how to boost students' learning through the use of reflection and performance assessment, and talks about teacher enthusiasm.
