Anton's son Cyprian has followed Nola back to her world, which is bad enough--but when a group of Pandorientians on a quest to find Pandoccident appear in Nola's room it is clear that both worlds are in serious danger.
On her eighth birthday her father gives Nola a music box that belonged to her late mother--and discovers that inside it is the magical world of Pandorient, and a pair of siblings named Andrea and Igor who need her help for their sick mother.
Since speaking to Siloe?, Nola has learned a lot about her own mother and the history of Pandorient, but there are still questions and when Nola finds a strange key she returns to the other world to find out what the key will open--but nobody knows what might happen if this particular door is unlocked.
Nola discovers the door to her own world is locked, trapping her in Pandorient, while her friends are determined to make a magic potion to solve Nola's problem--but to complete the potion they need the feathers from the rare silken eagle.
Nola returns to the world of Pandorient, where she and her friends have to figure out what is going on with Cyprian, son of Anton the great Merlinian, while concealing the fact that Nola is from outside.
