Hayashi, Fumino

Shinji Ikari, a student at First Municipal Junior High in New Yokyo-3, finds himself having unusual feelings for transfer student Rei Ayanami, much to the dismay of his childhood friend and self-appointed protector Asuka, and it is difficult to put personal feelings aside when they learn they are destined to be pilots of enormous artificial beings called Evangelion.

Troubled middle school student Gendo Rokubungi's life changes forever when he is befriended by Yui Ikari, the student council president, and meets mysterious new student Kaworu Nagisa.

The war with the Angels has finished, and the former students of Class 2-A once again find themselves in New-Tokyo 3, and with their military usefulness at an end, the former pilots of the Evangelion must face a new set of challenges as they leave their childhoods behind to discover the adults they were meant to be.

The Angels have descended on New Tokyo-3. Everyone is evacuating except Class2-A, who must stay behind to fight them off. With the danger hanging over their heads, Rei confesses to Asuka that she's told Shinji how she feels. Meanwhile, Shinji has a choice of his own to make.

Shinji Ikari's typical Tokyo teenager life changes after he runs smack into the new transfer student--who accuses him of looking up her skirt--and begins having haunting dreams about a robotic "other.".
