As the Hunter Association wrangles with the politics of choosing a new chairman, Gon remains in critical condition in the hospital. Killua knows a way to save him, but to do it will mean facing his deadly family of assassins and his strange little sister, Alluka, in particular.

The Hunters and the Chimera Ants gather for a final showdown, and as the Ant King's memory returns he finds himself thinking about the human, Komugi.

With the approach of the midnight hour, the Hunters launch their blitz against the Ants, aided by some surprising allies.

Gon and Killua prepare to battle Knuckle; and Killua learns about a flaw in his fighting ability.

In preparation to become Hunters, Gon has to take a multiple choice quiz, and Killua and Biscuit must compete against two Bombers.
