Shortly after moving from Los Angeles to Minnesota, sixteen-year-old Katla is inducted into the Icelandic Stork Society and granted the Second Chair, an odd decision that confuses the group's other members. As she manages her personal life while deal with her Stork duties, Katla becomes drawn to a boy from her school named Jack and tries to unravel the mystery surrounding him.
