During a class field trip to a Pilgrim village recreation, Katie finds herself replacing an actor playing a Pilgrim and, later, when her family goes to New York City, she becomes a clown in the Thanksgiving Day parade.

Fourth-grader Katie is eager to see the farm animals at the county fair until the magic wind arrives--twice--and puts a crazy spin on all her plans.

Katie's vacation aboard a cruise ship with on-deck miniature golf, a chance to swim with dolphins, and her best friend Suzanne along, sounds wonderful, but the magic wind throws everything off-course when it turns her first into a dolphin and then into a renowned chocolate chef.

The fair has arrived in town! Countless games and rides, a Ferris wheel, a beauty pageant, and a whole lot of fun are in store for Katie and her friends. But guess what else has arrived? The magic wind!.
