Kiki, Marnyke, Nishell, Sherise, and Tia, having quickly become friends after joining the Yearbook Club, find their friendship tested when Sherise falls for Carlos, who everyone else thinks is not good for her.
Marnyke lives with her older sister while their mother is in jail, but Akira is always busy, and Marnyke is lonely and her only interest in school besides the Yearbook Club is boys, which leads to much drama.
Popular Sherise joins the Yearbook Club along with her more studious twin, Kiki, but even Kiki is not happy that she continues to be interested in Carlos, who may be dealing drugs again.
