Bob Jones, an average man in every aspect of his life, is angry and perplexed when he finds himself fading from the attention of his coworkers, but then one day a stranger calls his name, and he learns the possibilities that are open to him as one of a group of people known as the Ignored.

Starting in a small Southwestern town and spreading across the country, men suddenly die and then inexplicably begin walking, toward an unknown destination and for an unknown purpose.
