Azoth, a former guild rat, takes on a new name--Kylar Stern--and identity while learning the art of assassination from a master, Durzo Blint, the city's most accomplished assassin; then Klyar abandons the life of an assassin after his master, Durzo, and best friend, Logan, are killed, but just as he begins to settle into his new life, rumors begin to hint that Logan may still be alive; finally, Kylar must assume his role as Night Angel once again in an effort to save his friends--and possibly his enemies--in a plan that involves the assassination of a goddess.
