King, Martin Luther

A collection of sermons preached by civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. during or after the bus protest in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955, in which he brings the Christian message to bear on the social problems of war, and economic and racial injustice.

Examines the history of the civil rights movement and focuses on the Birmingham campaign where King and others demonstrated to the world the power of nonviolent direct action. Discusses the future tasks ahead of them in order to accomplish full equality and includes King's ?Letter from Birmingham Jail? written in April of 1963. Provides an index and black-and-white photographs.
