Employing terror and a style of warfare so revolutionary it still inspires military strategies today, the Mongols built the largest empire the world had ever seen. Led by the savage and brilliant Genghis Khan, and later Tamerlane, whose cruelty far exceeded his predecssor's, the Mongols eventually succumbed to their own greed and ambition; Rising out of the East in the 4th and 5th centuries, the Huns were known for their horsemanship and skill in warfare. Led by the legendary Attila, "the Scourge of God," their military prowess led tot he creation fo the Great Wall of China and brought the Roman Empire to the brink of destruction. Ultimately, only malaria could bring an end to their reign of terror, as Attila, on his wedding night, drowned in his own blood.
