Thorgils Leifsson, the orphan son of an Irish noblewoman with second sight, is raised in Iceland and Greenland by mentors who teach him the ancient ways and warn him of an invasion by a White Christ, and when the prophecy seems to be coming true, Thorgils must use all his skill to protect himself and his land.
