The lines are drawn between good and evil as Nicolae Carpathia, no longer pretending to be a pacifist, makes his way to the temple and his followers clamor to receive the mark of the beast, while Rayford Steele rallies his team of flying rebels to save believers who must flee to the wilderness.

The Tribulation Force, a group of people who came to believe in God after being left behind on Earth after God's Rapture, ready themselves to fulfill Holy Scripture by setting up the assassination of the Antichrist.

Rayford Steele and the rest of the Tribulation Force having been left behind when the prophesied Rapture took believers to heaven, are now involved in a mission to win as many people as possible to Jesus while at the same time dealing with Nicolae Carpathia, the man they suspect is the Antichrist.
