When it begins to rain in a small local park a small group of children plan to build a minipark which will fit on a table. Each child brings something which resembles objects in the park like paper rolls for tunnels, a shoebox for a bench, and an empty box which looks like a cube much like a building at the park.
Teaches measuring skills, including the use of string lengths, heel-to-toe steps, and other techniques, through a story in which Mrs. Perez and her students plan and enjoy a treasure hunt.
