Jessica and Elizabeth learn a secret language from their father called Ithig. Jessica gives the secret language to a friend and now it is not a secret anymore--in fact the whole school knows it.

Jessica and Elizabeth care for the neighbor's five-year-old daughter while they go on vacation. The twins think it will be easy to care for her, but they soon find out she is spoiled.
