Splat does not want to have a playdate with Spike or learn how to swim, but when all of their classmates rush to the pool, Splat and Spike learn that they have something in common.

Splat, who doesn't like water, is dismayed that swimming lessons start at school today and the bully Spike is coming over later for a playdate. But when Splat discovers that Spike is afraid of water too, they become friends while overcoming their fear of water.
