In China in the mid-seventeenth centruy, 12 year old Hok, disguised as a boy for most of her life, must now assume her proper identity as a girl and try to save her brothers' lives by entering the notorious Jinan City Fight Club.
After soldiers of the new Emperor, led by Ying, engage in a fierce battle with the warrior-monks, Malao "the monkey" and his brothers rely on the ancient arts to help set things right.

After attacking and killing his former grandmaster, sixteen-year-old Ying realizes he has been betrayed in addition to being wanted for treason, and consequently is forced to turn to Hok, his old temple sister, for help.
In seventeenth-century China, orphaned ShaoShu, who can squeeze into small spaces, puts his life in danger when he becomes a spy for a young band of warrior monks known as the Five Ancestors and infiltrates evil Tonglong's camp.
