A collection of tales from Norse mythology with sagas that represent the narrative style of the Vikings, in which warrior queens and heroes fight against elves, dwarves, and monsters.

A translation of the thirteenth-century text which was composed by Icelandic author Snorri Sturluson as a handbook for poets who, in Snorri's day, were forgetting how to compose in the high style of their predecessors, the skalds or court poets of the Viking Age.
