After journalist Maureen Pascal finds and reveals ancient gospels written by Mary Magdalene, she receives an ancient letter written in Latin from Countess Matilda of Tuscany, who beseeches that Maureen recovers the lost "Book of Love, " written by Jesus Christ.

Journalist Maureen Paschal travels to France to research a new book and becomes caught up in the mystery surrounding a prophesized "expected one" and the discovery of scrolls that provide an account of the life and death of Jesus by his wife, Mary Magdalene.
