Mori, one of a handful of junior high students who have been chosen to champion a Celestial in an epic contest to select the next king, is dismayed to learn that her special power is not very useful in battle, and must figure out another way to defeat Memory, a tactical genius and master of traps.

Kosuke Ueki, a junior-high student who can turn trash into trees, battles five members of Robert's 10 in an amusement park of the underworld called Dogura Mansion.

Ueki is surprised to find that both he and his archrival Robert Haydn are Celestials, which means the tournament now has new rules and a much more important outcome.

After Ueki's celestial sponsor, Mr. K, is banished to the underworld for breaking the rules and interfering in a battle, Ueki is all the more inspired to win the throne, butin order to be the victor he must find a way to defeat a deadly team of contestants with his magical ability to turn trash into trees.

Marylin, who is in charge of her team, takes down every opponent with ease, and Ueki, whose strategy is to hide, searches for his teammates while everybody looks for the pendant that will win the fight, and as time runs out, Sano tries to learn new moves and Mori attmpts to learn what her power might be.

Team Ueki must face a team made up entirely of Celestials with new rules and new powers.
