When a Detroit Tiger third baseman is found murdered in Boston's Fenway Park, Mickey Rawlings is the prime suspect, but Mickey's own investigation uncovers a major league gambling scheme involving Ty Cobb, and a killer who makes Rawlings his next target.

Mickey Rawlings, now playing for the New York Giants, gets a bit part in a movie and investigates the murder of an actress who was also the widow of the former owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
