When two boys show up at an equipment rental and repair shop for help with their science fair project on machines, the owner of the shop gives them a tour. Together they examine the lever, wheel and axle, pulley, wedge, inclined plane, and screw, along with some compound machines, including a bicycle, a typewriter, and a corkscrew.
