Toshi and Kai Hara, twins born on either side of midnight, are individually drawn to Tokyo where Toshi learns about her role as Lord Aratsu's servant and ability to see ghosts and monsters while Kai pursues other goals with the help of Inspector Yamada.
Twins Toshi and Kai are born on either side of midnight; as they become teens, Aratsu, the master of the knives, comes to claim Toshi as his servant and only Kai can help get her back.
