Starfleet Academy cadet James T. Kirk and his friends rush to stop the Doctor, a mysterious serial killer who disappeared twenty years earlier and has now returned to target Cadet Uhura.

James T. Kirk, Leonard "Bones" McCoy, and other students at Starfleet Academy, are having fun playing the assassination game, a type of tag in which the game ends when there is only one player left, but a series of explosions on campus alerts them that someone is playing with serious intent.

Kirk is determined to find out what is allowing the other cadets to manage the Academy's challenges and schedules so easily, especially when Kirk's new girlfriend is one of the ones who seems better suited to life at the Academy.
