Sho and Tokyo Select encounter their first opponent, Toshiki of Kanto Select, at the Japan Toresen, the national youth team training camp, and the two old friends face off to see who has matured into the more powerful player.

Before they have a chance to catch their breath after returning from South Korea, the Tokyo Select team is invited to play in the Japan Toresen, a national soccer tournament for select youth teams.

Sho is determined to be on the best soccer team, although he is very short and not on the first team at his school. He practices with the best players and challenges the captain for leadership of the team and a starting position.

Sh? earns a place on the team as a alternate, and starts to realize that the players are having a hard time working together and need a leader.

Sh? and two of his teammates are chosen to try out for an all-star team, and once they get to the practice field and see their competition, Sh? begins to question his skills.
