Baby-sitters little sister

Karen tries to beat Pamela Harding in their school's field day races.

After weeks of studying wild animals in class, Karen can hardly wait to see the real live creatures, but Ms. Colman may have to cancel the field trip to the zoo when everyone in the class starts coming down with the flu.

Karen disobeys her mother and climbs up to her treehouse to play. When she slips and falls she is rushed to the hospital where she finds out she has to have an operation.

Karen is afraid she will catch her little sister's chicken pox, which would keep her from going to the Halloween party at school.

Karen sees a reindeer in Stoneybrook and hopes it will come to her school's Christmas play.

Karen is not sure that she has the talent to be an ice-skating star.

Kristy gets angry at Karen for spending more time selling lemonade at their softball games than actually playing the game.

Karen, tired of being the youngest kid in her class, decides to celebrate turning seven-and-a-half by having a half-birthday party, but she makes her friends angry when she takes the half concept way too far.
