In 1725 London, seventeen-year-old orphan Arista lives in fear of her abusive master, but she leads a double life as Lady A, a blackmailer who trades in the secrets of High Society and has to pass herself off as a boy to move safely through London's criminal underworld. Everything changes, however, when she meets Grae Sinclair, who loves Arista for who she is and promises to help her escape the life of crime.
