When she was twenty-five years old, Lexi Kennedy starred in a horror film shot by famous director Rick Plummer at his estate in the Florida Keys. After several cast members died during the filming, Lexi was left permanently traumatized and the film exploded in popularity. Lexi eventually married Cam, Rick's son, whom she met on set, but he went missing a year ago and Lexi blames his presumed death on Rick. When she hears Rick is going to be filming a sequel to the film, she forbids her daughter Quinn, seventeen, to join the cast. However, as a category-four hurricane bears down on the Keys, Quinn runs away anyway to join the movie and Lexi follows, knowing danger awaits her on the set.
