Kagome, a young school girl from modern-day Japan, gets pulled into a time portal and transported back to feudal Japan where she discovers that her destiny is linked to that of Inu-Yasha, a doglike half-demon, and together, they search for the Shikon Jewel which can fulfill the dreams of any man or monster.
