Explores the life of Hannah Brencher, founder of the website "The World Needs More Love Letters," who after graduating college in 2010 moved to New York City hoping her life would be like a movie. Discovering it wasn't, she turned to writing letters to strangers, leaving them around the city for strangers to find, then turning to writing physical letters to people around the world who simply needed to read something from a friendly stranger.
