The five heroes who have at one time or another worn the mantle of Robin, sidekick to Batman, get together in Dick Grayson the first Robin's apartment in Bl?dhaven, where they wonder aloud if their lives would have been better had they never become Robins. Then, they are attacked. A mysterious villain with a bone to pick, claiming herself to have been the real first Robin, is back for revenge, seeking to prove Batman should never have let her go.

Provides the story of how Tim Drake became Robin, Batman's partner. Describes how a young Tim Drake grows up watching his heroes, Batman and Robin, and learns their secret identities. When Dick Grayson goes on to become Nightwing, Tim gets his chance to train for the role of Robin. Together, he and Batman take the criminal Clayface into custody.
