While Marko and his family are staying on Jetsam, Doff and Upsher promise the family new bodies and identities if they sell their story, giving Hazel a normal life and showing warmongers that harmony is possible between the races. While they are considering it, Sir Robot, Squire, and Petrichor agree to give them scandalous information if they can take the offer and start a new life. However, Squire doesn't like the plan so he runs away. In the search for Squire, the group has a deadly encounter with Ianthe and The Will that changes everything.
