My childhood under fire

The real diary of Nadja Halilbegovich, a twelve-year-old in Sarajevo, written during the siege of her city from 1992 to 1995. Discusses the everyday struggle of her community as they tried to live normal lives while forced to scrounge for basic necessities and safety. The diary includes her childhood journal, her artwork, photographs from the war, as well as comments from the author looking back as a young woman.
