A Buffalo in the house

the extraordinary story of Charlie and his family

Veryl Goodnight's ancestors hand-raised two baby buffalo to bring back the species from the brink of extinction. Veryl and her husband Roger commit themselves to saving just one. When they bring a baby buffalo, separated from his herd, into their Santa Fe home they expect him to stay just a short time and then rejoin his own kind. But Charlie, who is surrounded by people and dogs, has no idea he's a buffalo and his bond with Roger is unbeliveably strong. When they finally re-introduce him to a herd and it results in a terrible accident, Veryl and Roger have to ask themselves how far they are willing to go for a buffalo that grows bigger each day.
