Baz, a young pickpocket who works alongside her friend, a boy named Demi, in a modern city in Latin America, brings her loot to Fay, who manages the gang of thieves from the slums, and when Demi attracts too much attention by stealing a valuable blue ring, Baz embarks on her own only to find a larger scale of corruption out in the world.
