Lavinia, daughter of King Latinus and Queen Amata, gets caught in the middle of her parent's conflicting wishes that she marry either Turnus, king of Rutuli, or Trojan stranger Aeneas, which follows an omen that dictates she will cause a war, and that her husband will die young.
