The Oregon Trail

In the mid 1800's the Oregon Trail was the only way for thousands of people from the eastern United States to reach lands west of the Rocky Mountains. This book tells the story of the legendary trail, of the mountain men whoi blazed the way, and the missionaries who followed. It describes the journey made by many thousands of hopeful emigrants who headed west to make new lives and homes for themselves. It also looke at the impact of the Oregon Trail on the Native peoples of the west.
