Marcus Cicero assumes control of the Roman Republic only to face treachery, violence, and acts of treason while he struggles to maintain the sanctity of the republic, to ward off assassination attempts, and to prevent a Roman Senator, Gaius Julius Caesar, from taking over and turning Rome into a dictatorship.
