Love in the Gospels

In today's secularized, sexualized, sentimentalized world, love is just another four letter word. For too many it conjures up either a momentary flash of passion or a sugar coated valentine. Those who bother to think about love more deeply are apt to do so in terms of special categories which conveniently separate the human manifestations - love between husband and wife, mother and child, sibling and sibling, etc. - from those of the spiritual - love of God, God's love for us, Christian love of neighbor.
