The legend of the willow plate

The design of a long popular dinnerware pattern was derived from this old folk tale of two ill-fated Chinese lovers, a poor peasant poet and the daughter of a wealthy mandarin, who fled from the wrath of an angry father and were pitied by the goddess of mercy.
