A childhood carrier of the zombie virus, Ani died at fourteen, but at sixteen she hides her condition behind a facade of black clothes and makeup at the insistence of her mother, and finding herself persecuted by the jocks, ignored by her middle-school crush Mike, and pursued by creeper Dylan, she hopes that her mother's research will unveil a cure.
