Indians and the old West

Glaciers still blaketed the country when the first Americans--those who would one day be called Indians--crossed over the land bridges into Alaska following the caribou. They came always in small groups. When white men came to North America, they found the Indians everywhere, and it seemed that there were a great many of them.
