Louis Zamperini tells the story of his life after his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean on May 27, 1943 and he was captured by the Japanese, discussing the torture he suffered as a prisoner of war for two years, his return home to a family that was told he was killed in action, his problems with drinking and despair, and his recovery with the help of love and faith.
