Noblewoman Aurora el la Porta's one love in life is embroidery, but when she attends a lavish evening party and is, out of nowhere, hit in the face with a wedding ring, she suddenly finds herself engaged to one of the finest-looking if not-very-bright knights is the kingdom, Felix il la Clavis, who only threw his ring as a way to get rid of his many suitors. Seeing the engagement--which the two agree should only last for a short while since the knight was drunk when he threw the ring--as an opportunity to study embroidery, Aurora agrees to pretend to be engaged to Felix which, of course, brings with it many unforeseen problems.
