What are apps?

Apps are software programs for mobile devices including tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches. Devices have different operating systems, so each device runs its own version of apps. Apps are written in code and are used for playing games, paying at the store, shopping online, sending pictures to friends, or looking up maps when you are lost in the city.
