In February 1910 a monstrous record-breaking blizzard hit a tiny Washington town high in the Cascade Mountains. The Great Northern Railroad's route ran through the mountains and the tracks were close to the edge in some places. Hungry passengers and train crews found themselves marooned when the blizzard hit. Just when escape seemed possible another avalanche ocurred and swept the trains over the steep slope and down the mountainside.
While heading home after a long night of work, Mishima, a pushover who works for a high-rise business in Tokyo, is involved in a train accident caused by an earthquake and must take initiative in order to save himself and the other passengers.
