In 1804, President Thomas Jefferson sent Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and 33 adventurers to explore the vast land west of the Mississippi River that he had purchased from France. This play tells the journey of these brave explorers.

Lewis and Clark were commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson to find a water route from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean and although they never found a water route they successfully documented information about the new lands.
Meriwether Lewis and William Clark were the two figures at the heart of the Corps of Discovery. Students will learn how these two men first met and how they came to be tasked with this expedition.
